Here's a quick look at the events that we host throughout the year.

Children’s Horsemanship program

We offer 4 sessions in the Summer as well as February & April School Vacation weeks for beginner and advanced riders ages 9+ (Age exceptions will be made if a current 4-H member).

In all programs children will learn about Daily Care, Advanced Grooming, Tacking, Tack Care, Anatomy, Unsoundness, Blemishes, Colic, Equine First Aid and have a Riding Lesson each day. No previous equine knowledge needed.

The Carroll Center for the blind

Established in 1936 and located in Newton, The Carroll Center has pioneered many innovative services for the blind and visually impaired. They have developed many methods for people with low vision to learn the skills to be independent in their homes, in class settings, and in their work places. During the summer months, they offer Horse Club which is hosted by Nora Reardon at Canton Equestrian Center!

Horse Club with The Carroll Center is scheduled for 4-5 consecutive Fridays every summer.  A blind or minimally sighted rider is able to ride for 50 minutes each week.

high flyers 4-h club

4‑H is delivered by Cooperative Extension—a community of more than 100 public universities across the nation that provides experiences where young people learn by doing. Kids complete hands-on projects in areas like health, science, agriculture and citizenship, in a positive environment where they receive guidance from adult mentors and are encouraged to take on proactive leadership roles. 4-H is a network of clubs all over the USA with a vast interest in many areas. Nora Reardon has been leading the High Flyers 4-H Club at Canton Equestrian Center since 2005 with the main goal of teaching the basics of horsemanship.
